Perched on the south bank of the River Thames, London's City Hall is a striking example of contemporary architecture. Designed by the famed architect Norman Foster, this iconic structure is not only a government building - it's a modern marvel.
Completed in 2002, the distinctive, glass-clad shape has been likened to a bulbous egg, a motorcycle helmet, and even an onion! The design has drawn both praise and criticism, but it's undeniably one of London's most futuristic buildings.

The City Hall

City Hall's curved form wasn't chosen just for looks. The unique shape is highly energy-efficient, with a reduced surface area to minimize heat loss. The building leans towards the south to shield it from intense sunlight, a smart design feature aimed at maintaining a comfortable interior temperature. Inside, a continuous helical walkway stretches up ten floors, offering panoramic views of the Thames and London's iconic Tower Bridge. At the top, "London's Living Room" provides a spectacular meeting space with sweeping city views.
Opening Hours: Mondays - Thursdays: 8:30 - 18:00; Fridays: 8:30 - 17:30; Weekend: Closed.
